The government of Ghana has finalized a significant bilateral agreement with the Commonwealth of the Bahamas to facilitate the deployment of 300 teachers. This initiative marks the inaugural phase of an expanded educational cooperation framework between the two nations.

The decision to recruit from Ghana was largely influenced by the positive reception of Ghanaian professionals already operating within the Caribbean nation.

The Bahamian government specifically sought to scale this model to the education sector following the success of medical personnel currently stationed there under a related arrangement.
Beyond the immediate economic impact, the partnership is underpinned by deep historical connections. Minister Ablakwa emphasized that the two countries are linked by ancestral bonds, as a significant portion of the Bahamian population traces their heritage directly to Ghana.

“We shall continue to actively pursue impactful diplomacy which directly benefits the Ghanaian people. For God and Country,” Minister Ablakwa affirmed.
