Nollywood is gearing up for a major cinematic event as Black Market, a new crime thriller, prepares for its Lagos premiere on September 26, 2026.

The film follows five market women involved in a cross border smuggling business. Their world takes a dangerous turn when the daughter of one of them is kidnapped, forcing the women to fight for survival while protecting their business and loyalty.

The movie features notable Nollywood names including Lateef Adedimeji, Linda Ejiofor Suleiman, Ibrahim Yekini, Omowunmi Dada, Susan Pwajok and Uzor Arukwe.
Organisers are targeting 50,000 attendees at Tafawa Balewa Square, with the goal of setting a Guinness World Records title for the largest audience at a single film screening.

Produced by Rixel Studios in collaboration with FilmOne Studios, Signet Ring Studios and Switch Visuals Production, Black Market is shaping up to be more than a movie premiere. It is an ambitious attempt to showcase the scale and growing influence of Nigeria’s creative industry.
