Cote D'Ivoire Legend Yaya Toure Begins Managerial Career As Head Coach Of A Slovakian Top Team

Arts and Culture
Cote D'Ivoire and Manchester City legend Yaya Toure has been appointed head coach of Slovak champions Slovan Bratislava, signing three-year deal with the club in his first managerial position.

The appointment marks a significant milestone for the 43 year-old former midfielder, who has been building his coaching credentials since retiring from professional football in 2019.

After serving in various backroom roles across Europe and Asia, the four-time African Footballer of the Year is now ready to implement his own philosophy at a club with high expectations and a regular presence in European competition.
Toure freshly stepped down from his assistant coach role with the Saudi Arabia national team to pursue an appointment that has now been confirmed.

He will become Slovan Bratislava’s first ever black coach, and the first of African descent.
