The Role of Tech in Education: Learning Beyond the Classroom

Education in Africa is changing — and technology is leading the way. With crowded classrooms and limited resources, many students now turn to digital tools to learn, grow, and compete globally.

Apps like uLesson, AltSchool, and Tuteria are making quality education more accessible. YouTube lessons, WhatsApp study groups, and even TikTok tutorials are helping students grasp topics at their own pace — anytime, anywhere.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, tech became a lifeline for education. And today, it's still expanding access for students in remote areas, those preparing for exams, or anyone hungry for knowledge.

But not everyone is connected yet. Data costs, poor networks, and lack of devices still block many. That’s why digital inclusion must be a priority — because every African child deserves a chance to learn, with or without a school gate.
