In one of the most substantial private-sector investments in Nigerian higher education in recent history, financial ecosystem platform Moniepoint Inc has announced a landmark ₦3 billion commitment to establish three state-of-the-art Innovation hubs across prominent federal universities over the next three years.
The multi-billion Naira project aims to transition students from foundational curiosity to high-level career readiness through structured, cohort-based learning.
Rather than serving as traditional lecture spaces, each hub will operate as a permanent, hands-on launchpad focusing on high-demand disciplines, including software engineering, data science, artificial intelligence, product design, robotics, and digital entrepreneurship.
"Nigeria’s digital economy cannot run on potential alone,” Moniepoint CEO Tosin Eniolorunda stated in his remarks.
“We are investing these billions of Naira to ensure our tech ecosystem is powered by sustainable, homegrown excellence. Nigeria’s future will to a very large extent be built by Nigerians trained in Nigerian institutions.”
Moniepoint's internal engineering, product, and business units will actively collaborate with the hubs to shape globally competitive curricula, provide direct mentorship, and establish clear internship pathways.
This direct corporate involvement ensures that student projects remain grounded in the practical demands of the modern African tech ecosystem.
