Life is getting harder for many Nigerians. Prices keep rising — from food and fuel to rent and transport. Inflation has become a daily reality, and it’s eating deep into people’s pockets.
What’s causing it? Several things: the removal of fuel subsidies, the falling value of the naira, and high production costs. When businesses pay more to operate, they pass that cost to consumers. And with many earning the same or even less, families are struggling to cope.
Even basic items like rice, bread, and tomatoes now feel like luxuries for some households.
To fix this, Nigeria needs stable policies, better support for local production, and a stronger currency. Inflation won’t vanish overnight, but action must be taken — or more Nigerians will be pushed below the poverty line.
