19-year-old Victoria Mboko has officially cracked the WTA Top 10! Following a sensational run in Doha and her historic Montreal title, the Congolese-Canadian star is now the world’s No. 10 ranked player.

This time last year Mboko was ranked No. 333 in the world, grinding it out — and winning — on the ITF Circuit. She has since picked up four straight ITF titles since 2025, which has laid the foundation for what would become a 323-spot climb up the rankings. It has taken her just 357 days to go from breaking into the Top 200 to securing a place in the Top 10.

The Mboko family moved from the Democratic Republic of Congo nearly three decades ago to escape the Congo Wars of the mid-1990s. After living in North Carolina, where Victoria was born, they settled in Toronto when she was an infant.

Born August 26 2006, Victoria Mboko is the youngest by seven years of the four Mboko siblings (two boys, two girls), all of whom have played the sport throughout their lives.
Victoria’s ascent in the tennis world was meteoric. By her early teens, she had already made a name for herself in the ITF Junior Circuit. She won her first professional singles title at the ITF W25 tournament in Saskatoon in 2022, a title which she successfully defended in 2023.

In 2025, Mboko came from behind to beat a fourth major champion at the 2025 Canadian Open, defeating Naomi Osaka to claim a historic first title of her career (first Canadian woman to win) — at WTA 1000 level and her home tournament in Montreal. She had earlier defeated top seed players like Coco Gauff, Sofia Kenin and 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina.
Victoria Mboko has continued to fire on all cylinders in 2026. So far, she reached her first WTA 500 final at the Adelaide International, made the fourth round of the Australian Open, her best Grand Slam result yet, and followed it up with a runner-up finish at the WTA 1000 Qatar TotalEnergies Open in Doh
